Instructions for Conference Proceedings Submission

• The proceedings of ECMI 2008 will be published as a high quality book in the Springer Mathematics in Industry series.

• Conference contributors are invited to prepare LaTeX papers in the Springer svmult style which can be downloaded from http://www.ecmi2008.org/springerfiles.zip. Please use the template fitt2.tex which is included in this distribution.

• The page limits are as follows:

– Keynote speakers: 12–20 pages
– Minisymposium talk; Contributed talk; Poster contribution: 6 pages each
– Minisymposium chair: 2 pages to introduce the minisymposium papers and put them in context. Please use the template abbas-vega.tex as a guide to the style.

• Some points of detail:

– Figures etc. should reproduce to an acceptable standard in black and white / greyscale. There is presently no scope for colour figures.
– Papers should include a short abstract environment. See the example fitt2.tex
– Please use the default referencing system: that is, references in the main text should use the \cite command and should generate a simple number in brackets e.g. [1], [2] etc. The bibliography should be in alphabetical order.

• The .pdf of your contribution, together with a zip file containing the .tex and .eps sources should be sent to Amy Marsh conferences@ima.org.uk with an absolute deadline of 15 October 2008.

• Papers which:

– are not in the Springer style
– for which source files are not provided
– which do not build correctly
– which are not written in good English
– which are generally below journal standard in terms of presentation

will be rejected outright and will not be passed to referees.

• ECMI 2008 committees helped by minisymposium organisers and external experts will referee submitted papers and decide which papers will be published by 31 January 2009.

• Decisions of the ECMI programme committee are final and not subject to appeal.
